TRAC’s
coaching staff consists of 7 people who have a combined 100+
years of coaching. Each coach is swimmer oriented and works
hard to be sure each athlete feels successful. The coaches'
approach is educationally oriented and work hard to be sure
life lessons are taught. |

Bill Close
Bill is a retired teacher following 31 years with Fort
Wayne Community Schools. He has a Masters Degree in Education
and is a ASCA Level III Coach. He has coached swimmers of
all ages leading several to a state championships as well
as T16, zone, sectional and national meets. Swimmers under
Bill's expertise have swum at the collegiate level. His
experience includes local summer leagues, high school, YMCA,
and USA Swimming. Bill combines his educational experience
with his swimming knowledge to provide a very well rounded
experience to all swimmers.

Chris Knoblauch
Chris began swimming at age 6 and swam through collegiate
level. He was an IHSAA State Qualifier, as well as a finalist
at the State Senior Meet. Chris' background includes summer
league city championships and leading the Snider High School
team to sectional champions. He is a USA Swimming certified
level II coach. He has a bachelor's degree in Elementary
Physical Education. Currently Chris teaches at Forest Park
Elementary. Chris is known for his excellent instruction
in stroke technique and his ability to show kids how to
swim properly with a lot of fun and enthusiasm.

Jason Glassley
Jason is in his second year coaching for TRAC. Jason swam
competitively as an age group swimmer through high school.
During high school, he choose to concentrate his athletic
attention on other sports. Jason has extensive summer league
swim team coaching experience including City Championships.
He has a bachelors degree in finance and sports
administration. Currently, Jason is employed as Analyst for
International Truck and Engine. Jason is known for his
ability to teach kids how to swim properly while having
lots of fun. |

Yardley Glassley
Yardley began
swimming at age 7 and swam through the collegiate level. She
was an IHSAA State Qualifier. She has spent the last 6 years
coaching various summer swim teams and the past two years as
an assistant coach for Concordia Lutheran High School. She
has a bachelor degree in Journalism with a concentration in graphic design.
Currently, she is employed as a graphic designer for
Partners 1st Federal Credit Union. She
brings experience with stroke technique and shows
youngsters how to swim correctly and have a great time.

Laura
Hammes
Laura Hammes was a
competitive swimmer from age 6 through high school.
While in college, Laura took a break from swimming to
row on the crew team. Since college, she has remained
active, competing in triathlons and in masters
swimming. She was an age-group winner in the 2004 CMSA
State Meet, and coached a triathlon swim training
program while living in Naperville, IL. Laura has a
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University in
Pennsylvania. She worked six years for Mobil Oil
Corporation in Research and Development before choosing
to become a stay-home mother. In 2006, Laura moved to
Fort Wayne where she currently lives with her husband
and 4
children.

Samantha
Phillips
Samantha "Sam" Phillips has coached for two years at the
summer team level. She has taught community and school
day lessons for three years and has been a lifeguard for
four years at NACS Natatorium. She is in her third year
of college at IPFW. Sam is studying secondary education
with endorsements in mathematics and social studies.

Terri Close
Terri works with the youngest TRAC swimmers to ensure proper
beginning stroke technique. Terri was formerly a Nationally
Ranked swimmer and has a strong background in the overall
swimming arena. Her compassion for youngsters coupled with
her ability to teach mechanics makes her a perfect fit to
work with swimmers at this level. Currently, Terri works
in the Business Office of Allergy and Asthma Center.
